Each facet's layout starts at its left end, seen from the eave looking up the slope; a partial panel falls at the right-hand end. Where that end panel would be narrower than the system's minimum rip, the layout is centred so both end panels are ripped equally.
Every panel is a rectangle cut to the longest extent of its strip. Tapers at hips and valleys and notches around openings are cut on site and counted as cut waste.
Panels cover 5,125 sq ft of roof; 5,542 sq ft of panel is ordered. The difference is cut waste (rip 78 sq ft at ripped end panels, taper 248 sq ft at hips, valleys and openings) plus hems, laps and rounding each length up to the inch.
Eave → ridge is the facet’s true slope length. Ordered LF includes the eave hem, end laps and rounding; it adds up to the cut list.
Lengths include a 1 1/2 in hem where a panel starts at an eave. A run longer than the longest panel is split into equal panels end-lapped 6 in (none on this roof). Panels shorter than 2' 0" are ordered at that minimum.
Ripped panels are ordered full width and ripped on site. Offcuts are not assumed reusable; any reuse is the installer’s saving, not a planned quantity.
Trim location key: every line is drawn in the colour and pattern of the trim it takes.
Each straight run of one trim type is extended by 10% for cutting and counted in stock pieces with its laps; runs are never pooled and divided by the stock length. Lines where a withheld facet meets a laid one are included; skylight curbs take the skylight maker's kit.

Clips are counted along each panel's centre line: one at the low end, then as many as keep every gap within the spacing of the zone the gap lies in. Zones are measured in the roof plane from the pattern's perimeter lines; corners are where two perimeter bands meet.
Fixed point: Pinned at the ridge; the eave end moves
Movement = expansion coefficient × free length × design temperature swing, taken from each run’s true length. The fixed point and clip travel come from the system design; a run over the travel needs a mid-length fixed point, a longer-travel clip or a break in the run.
